FAQs
How much does a small business website cost?
A new website starts from £895 for up to 5 pages, a refresh from £495, and an online shop from £1,295. Audits start at £149. You get a fixed quote by email before any work begins.
How long does a new website take?
Most new websites take 3 to 5 weeks from agreeing your quote to launch. The biggest factor is how quickly your wording and photos are ready.
How do I know if my website needs a refresh?
If it looks dated, is hard to use on a phone, or visitors struggle to find what they need, it's probably time. A Snapshot is a good first step if you're not sure.
What's the difference between an audit and data analysis?
An audit looks at your website itself: its design, content and ease of use. Data analysis looks at how people actually use it, so you can see what's working and what isn't.
What is AEO?
AEO stands for Answer Engine Optimisation. It means shaping your website so AI tools such as ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity can understand it and quote it when someone asks a question your business should answer.
Do I need to give you my passwords?
No. Audits are built on what is publicly visible on your site. For a Data Review, we ask for view-only access to Google Analytics or Search Console, which you can remove at any time.
I'm not technical. Will I understand the report?
Yes. Every Full Audit comes with two documents: a full, in-depth report and a short plain-English summary. Start with the summary. It tells you what matters most and what to do first. The full report has all the detail for you or your web designer.
Do we have to speak on the phone?
No. Everything is handled by email, from your quote to your report and any follow-up questions. You can reply whenever it suits you, even between clients.
What is the Review Kit and how does it work?
It's a branded counter stand and two tap cards with an NFC chip and a QR code. A client taps their phone on it, or scans the code, and your Google review page opens. There's no app and no monthly fee. Google's rules say you must ask every client the same way and never offer a reward for a review, so our wording guide keeps you on the right side of them.
Which platforms do you work with?
WordPress, Wix, Squarespace and Shopify. If you're on something else, ask and we'll tell you honestly whether we can help.
Will I own my website?
Yes. Once it's paid for, the website, its content and your domain name are yours.
What do I need to provide?
Anything you already have, such as your logo, brand colours, photos and wording. If you don't have everything yet, that's fine. We'll guide you through it by email.
Can you guarantee more customers or a higher ranking?
No one can honestly guarantee that. What we can do is make your website clearer, easier to use and better placed to perform, and explain our reasons for every recommendation.
